Absentee, That’s Me.

I didn’t go to school today, because when I woke up, my eye was all messed up [my guess is pink eye?]. It hurt, so during breakfast, I finally managed to ask Naoko-okaasan if I could stay home today. It sucked, because she didn’t get what I was saying … but yeah, I eventually got my point across, and she was nice about it. I went back to sleep, or was about to, when she came in and told me that we needed to call the school to tell them I was sick, and I thought she meant me specifically, so I started to get up and she said: “No, no, no, Mama will call” and pointed to herself! I was surprised that she referred to herself as Mama when talking to me, because previously I’d asked Takuma-otousan what I should call them, and he’d said that I should call them by their names.

But when she said “Mama,” I was happy. I really wanted a host family, not host friends.

Speaking of which, I’m change to the Nomura household later this week.
